The Carbon Institute is an international academic partnership dedicated to training the next generation of carbon fluent leaders. We believe that countries' own national academic institutions are the appropriate environments to build endogenous capacity to train professionals in robust and transparent measuring carbon, using international guidelines and best practices.
Building Capacity to Measure Terrestrial Carbon
Our premier initiative is to help tropical countries measure, model and manage their terrestrial carbon. This work aims to provide advanced training and support universities and colleges around the world to develop their own academic platforms for teaching terrestrial carbon accounting. The University of California San Diego extension accredited and ran the first ever advanced Certificate in Terrestrial Carbon Accounting

. More than 150 applicants vied for 25 spots. Given the high demand, the Carbon Institute is helping international academic partners to design, run, and accredit their own academic programs in terrestrial carbon accounting.
