The Carbon Institute Team

The Carbon Institute Team

We are a global partnership of equals. And that starts with the Carbon Institute team. Diversity in governance is our number one strength.

The Carbon Institute is governed by a Board of Directors with equal regional representation from partner organizations. Our International Council’s job is to ensure our educational programs meet high academic standards and are internationally and nationally accredited. Our Advisory Board provides big ideas and challenges us to keep our heads up. The Secretariat, working from six different countries, carries out the vision of our  Board of Directors and International Council.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors oversees the Carbon Institute’s legal and ethical obligations, approves annual budgets, evaluates and supports the Executive Director, and sets our overall strategic direction. Our board is governed by the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, adopted in 2006 and revised most recently in 2019.
